The second workshop between the Academy of Fine Arts of Urbino and the 2RC has just concluded,
bringing the students of the two-year specialist course in Graphic Art for the Arts
Visuals of the Academy of Fine Arts of Urbino at the beating heart of the profession.

The protagonist? Maestro Emilio Isgrò.

Starting with a precious 16th-century copy of Baldassarre Castiglione's "Book of the Courtier," kindly provided by the Fondo Antico of Urbino, 2RC worked alongside the artist for months on eight copper plates. It wasn't just technique: with Emilio Isgrò, double aquatint on erasure becomes a discipline of the gaze: subtracting to generate meaning.

Under the guidance of Prof. Marco Bazzini and 2RC experts Simona Rossi and Lino Tortosa, the group of 14 students went through every stage of fine art printing — from etching
from aquatint to photoengraving — up to the "Print Voucher".

It was a rare opportunity to see up close how conceptual thinking becomes precision.
