The bond between the historic 2RC printing house and the city of Urbino is not just an institutional collaboration, but a meeting of visions that dates back to 2017. It all began with a conversation between Giuseppe Balduini, Gabriele Cavalera, and the Rossi family at the Bracciano headquarters, and was then consolidated in 2018 with the major Arnaldo Pomodoro exhibition at the Albani Gallery. From that moment, the idea of ​​bringing the beating heart of 2RC to the ducal city became a shared mission.

Despite the challenges of recent years, the project has found unwavering support from the Municipality of Urbino, led by Mayor Maurizio Gambini, and the Academy of Fine Arts of Urbino, directed by Professor Luca Cesari. In 2021, the agreement became concrete: the creation of an International Center for Graphic Art in the regenerated spaces of the former Archives on Via Valerio, the evocative "Via delle Arti." 2025 marks the turning point. With the completion of the renovation work, the center is ready to house the presses and machinery donated by 2RC. The installation of the gigantic "Alessandro Magno" chalcographic press, designed by Valter Rossi in 1970, was a veritable theatrical piece in the heart of Urbino: a precision choreography that transformed logistics into an aesthetic event, marking the official entry of the great engraving technique into the Renaissance fabric of the city.

Today, with the equipment ready and the spaces inaugurated, the Center presents itself as a challenge open to the world. We want to offer international artists a home where their art can express itself without constraints, supported by an excellent staff. In Urbino, the tradition of fine art printmaking is not only revived, but also looks to the future with a new, total ethical transparency.
