Emilio Isgrò signs the press release for "The Book of the Courtier"
Just a moment historical for contemporary art graphics and a milestone of excellence for academic training: the master Emilio Isgrò officially signed the Printing Proof for the graphic work “The Book of the Courtier”.
SThis concludes the design phase of the second workshop born from the synergy between the Academy of Fine Arts of Urbino and the International Center for Graphic Art 2RC. A months-long process, eight copper plates were transformed, through etching, aquatint, and photoengraving, into a monumental 95 x 105 cm work.
The Project: From Cinquecentina to Contemporary Art
LThe work draws inspiration from a 1544 copy of Baldassarre Castiglione's "Book of the Courtier," made available by the Fondo Antico. Under the scientific guidance of Professor Marco Bazzini and the technical support of Simona Rossi and Lino Tortosa (2RC), the students took on the challenge of large-format art, where artisanal precision meets the radical nature of Isgrò's thought.
The Circulation: A Collective Experience
CWith the signing of the Printing Order, the production of the limited edition begins: 36 numbered copies and four artist's proofs.
Six young talents selected for their balance between technique and vision will bring this operational device to life:
From the Academy (Two-Year Program in Graphic Art): Arian, Enrico, Lorenzo and Valentina.

Training and Profession
QThis collaboration is not just an educational exercise, but a true bridge to high-level professionalism. The project allows students to experience the pace and responsibilities of a historic printing house, transforming printing into a place of testing ideas, materials, and time.
